US companies bypass new tariffs by shipping China-sourced goods directly to EU and UK
In a significant shift in global trade dynamics, an increasing number of US companies are now shipping products sourced from China directly to the European Union (EU) and the United Kingdom (UK), skipping the United States entirely. This strategic move is primarily driven by the recently imposed high tariffs on Chinese imports entering the US market.
The US government introduced these tariffs to protect domestic industries and reduce dependency on Chinese manufacturing. However, the new levies (some of the highest in recent years) have substantially increased the cost of importing goods from China into the US, prompting companies to seek alternative routes.
